Elvis impersonator - Ryan Pelton : I was fortunate to catch Ryan Pelton (http://www.ryanpelton.com/) in concert at the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Bristol, TN. I have to say - not only does he sound almost identical to the the king - but his onstage persona is a flawless impression of Elvis. My favorite was the "69 Comeback Elvis" - in black leather! My husband is a fan of the "Fat Elvis" era (his description) - the jumpsuit days.

Siege of Fort Watauga at Sycamore Shoals : The reenactment of the siege by the Cherokee Indians in 1776 of Fort Watauga. Sycamore Shoals State Park hosts this battle Mid May annually. http://www.sycamoreshoalstn.org/

Appalachian Heritage Festival : The Appalachian Heritage Festival was a big success, in spite of Mother Nature. The rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits, there was great music, beautiful, handmade jewelry, arts and crafts, great food, face painting, pony rides, adorable kittens - in other words, something for everyone. And a special treat was the tours of Deery Inn. Since relocating to this area, I've wanted to get inside this wonderful & historic building. I finally got my chance. Thank you Bob for the tour! The restoration work is truly magnificent.
